Recently, a girl named Dua Mangi had been kidnap. It is really upsetting to see that such news lasts for some days and then everyone forgets. Why is that? Are we weak enough to not raise a voice? Are we all cowards? IT’S TIME TO WAKE UP.

Where people want peace in the country they live in, where people should stay safe and secure, where women shouldn’t fear men, where they shouldn’t be afraid to step out of their houses.. the cases of rape, kidnapping and murder have taken over. Sadly,  It had made every women scared for their lives. I’m in no position to tell that our government would take a strict action against the rapists or not. But all we can do is be united and fight for the safety of every individual living here.



The victim, 22-year-old Dua Mangi, was snatched by men in a car from a street in Defence Housing Authority on Saturday evening. She and her friend had been walking by the side of the road when a car containing four men stopped and kidnapped her.

Meanwhile, they shot at her friend, identified as Haris Soomro, who was trying to stop them. According to police, he was shot in the neck and the bullet ended up penetrating his chest.

Soomro was initially taken to a local hospital but was later transferred to Agha Khan Hospital. He is currently recovering from his injuries.

A man whom Dua Mangi met in the US could be involved in her kidnapping, according to a report by The News.The police investigators recorded the statements of some 22 witnesses, family members and friends, according to the report.

Local news outlets reported that police are looking into the alleged threats from a man she had received whom she met in the US while studying there and that the person had allegedly been building pressure on her to marry him.

According to sources, Mangi’s father told the police that 10 days ago his daughter had a fight with a man named Muzafar and a few days later she was abducted.

Police also claimed to have recovered an abandoned car from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, noting that it matched the description of the car the kidnappers had used to abduct Mangi and was one that was snatched from P.E.C.H.S. on November 27.



As soon as the news did spread on social media, people showed sympathy towards her and her family. The post went viral but will this make a change? Think again. Some people also blamed drama serials like “Ruswai” for an increase of such incidents. Some of them turned it into a joke. While some of them accused the media for not bothering about poor people’s kidnapping.

Leaders of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), politician Farooq Sattar, and lawyer Jibran Nasir were seen at the protest.

On the other hand, Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani — a leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) — said in the provincial assembly that police had gathered some evidence in the case and that if need be, they would ask the federal government for assistance.
